One Simple Question, Ten Years, and a Myriad of Solutions

About ten years ago a certain Provincial Minister of Agriculture asked us one simple question.

“Since you are so good at the bioremediation of complex hydrocarbons why couldn’t you apply your knowledge to hog manure and create a solution that would allow for the continued health and growth of the industry?”

The team at Nordevco could not resist the challenge and set out to find the solution. The answer to the challenge was quickly developed in theory but it would be ten years of diligent testing with producers that would finally produce a practical, economically viable and effective solution.

Today BactiDomus™ Bio4Swine:Barn has been embraced by many producers as the solution they have long sought to help them with their manure management issues.

Ten years for one solution? Yes…but…we learned a number of things along the way. With input from producers throughout the process came an increased understanding of agriculture in general and livestock management specifically. As our research progressed it became increasingly apparent that biological solutions for the livestock industry were both appropriate and in short supply. Producers understood that farming is a biological process. Raising a crop, animal husbandry, feeding, manure management, essentially every aspect is rooted in biology. Before long producers engaged our expertise in finding solutions for a number of issues they faced.
